At Vein Doctors Group, we offer the complete treatment of veins by expert Phlebologists.
However, it is important that patients understand not only what a Phlebologist is, but what makes the practitioners at Vein Doctors Group stand apart from the rest.
Phlebology is the branch of medical science concerned with the anatomy and diseases of the veins. A phlebologist is a doctor who has undergone extensive post-graduate training to diagnose, treat, and prevent venous diseases with expert care. At Vein Doctors Group we treat a wide variety of venous diseases.
To become a phlebologist, one must first undergo the six or more years of study to gain a medical degree. Afterward, they must follow several years of training in a hospital setting, with further specialised training required to accumulate the necessary expertise in the field of Phlebology.
Treatments with Vein Doctors Group are performed by doctors who have received specialised training by the Australasian College of Phlebology.
What is the Australasian College of Phlebology?
The Australasian College of Phlebology (ACP) is the professional body for Phlebologists in Australia, and currently the largest Phlebology society in Australia and New Zealand.
It was founded in 1993 by Dr Paul Thibault, and provides a comprehensive Phlebology training program, which was constructed and refined to become one of the best in the world.
For an individual to have trained within the college, as many of the practitioners in Vein Doctors Group have, means they can expertly help people in need through the necessary multi-disciplinary knowledge, as well as stand proud as internationally distinguished Phlebologists.
Vein Doctors Group greatly benefits from doctors who have joined us with ACP accreditations. In addition, Dr Lekich and Dr McMaster are current board members of the ACP.
