Our vein experts, lead by Dr Chris Lekich have a wealth of experience in multidisciplinary approaches to venous conditions with advanced training in managing swollen legs and lipoedema.
Dr Chris Lekich is the Medical Director of Vein Doctors Group. Dr Lekich has a background in microsurgical techniques and was trained by world-renowned Microsurgeon, Professor Earl Owen. He is a Fellow and the Past Vice-President of the Australasian College of Phlebology. Dr Lekich continues to educate doctors in the treatment options and techniques for Varicose Veins.
As well as offering a comprehensive modern non-surgical treatment for varicose veins, Dr Lekich established a pregnancy vein service to support women with varicose veins during pregnancy.
After graduating from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, Dr Jackman travelled all across Australia, gathering experience in Cairns, Darwin, and Broome.
Dr Jackman spent several years with the Royal Flying Doctors, helping people in far off communities, and has been a GP for over 15 years. Through her GP experience, she gained a high valuation for how movement and mobility affects many aspects of a person’s wellbeing, and led her to gaining irreplaceable knowledge from the Australasian College of Phlebology and becoming a sclerotherapy gold medal recipient from the college.
We are delighted that Dr Jackman has found a home as part of the Vein Doctors Group family.
Dr Stuart McMaster joined the vein doctors group in 2019, having previously worked with Dr Lekich in providing an outreach vein clinic in Mackay in the early 2010s, and provided vein treatment services to patients on Brisbane’s North Side since the mid 2000s.
Dr McMaster graduated from the University of Otago Medical School in 1987, working initially as a general practitioner and rural hospital clinician and obtaining general practice fellowship (FRNZGP) in 1991.
Dr. Rhys Bennett is a dedicated physician who initially qualified in sonography. As he advanced his skills in general practice, he witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of long-term pain and chronic conditions on patients. This experience ignited his passion for venous health, prompting him to study Phlebology. Dr. Bennett is also committed to helping patients manage conditions such as Lipoedema and Lymphoedema. He focuses on both conservative management and surgical intervention, aiming to alleviate pain and improve the quality of life for those suffering from these chronic conditions. His dedication to venous health exemplifies his holistic approach to patient care.
Rylee White, Manager of Australian Ultrasound Specialists, brings over 20 years of experience as a general sonographer, with the past 10 years dedicated to vascular ultrasound. She has worked alongside leading specialists to develop advanced imaging protocols for diagnosing complex compression syndromes linked to conditions such as POTS, chronic pelvic pain, leg swelling, complex regional pain, and neurological symptoms. Rylee holds a Master of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, a Bachelor of Biomedical Science, and a Master’s in Genetic Counselling. Her diverse career includes roles across both public and private clinical settings in Australia, as well as corporate positions within the medical imaging industry.
Danielle Adey is an experienced vascular sonographer with over seven years of clinical expertise in both the United States and Australia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Vascular Technology from the Oregon Institute of Technology and completed her clinical training at the Cleveland Clinic. Her experience spans a wide range of vascular studies, including arterial and venous duplex, bypass grafts, carotid imaging, AV fistulas, and complex compression syndromes such as MALS, Nutcracker/May-Thurner, and TOS. Danielle is known for her strong clinical skills and collaborative work with vascular surgeons and senior sonographers.
